The history of our hotel
Zernez, is situated in the heart of the Engadin valley, first mentioned in a document in year 1161 Anno 1367 joined the Engadin here Raetic the first covenant that God's House, this date is the birthday Grison known.

The special traffic allowed our village since the Middle Ages for an important role to come. In the years 1871/72 of mule trains and mule over the Offenpass to today's pass road was built. Our hotel was a post office and then became the only guest house in Zernez which started our new life path. Carriers, merchants and travellers we could accommodate over a hundred years ago.

As a family business we are keen to pursue our traditional obligation to provide hospitality, and today's comforts. What remains is a touch of history, a hotel's agriculture, home-style cuisine, as well as joy, which leads to good-humoured and friendly guests.

Instead of mule trains and distributors like in the past we now have summer hikers, who are enjoying the beautiful nature in and outside of the Swiss National Park.

Hotel tennis courts, indoor swimming pool and museum in the village offer a wide variety for your stay. We also offer a unique winter sports consisting of cross country ski trails, and alpine Skiing in the nearby Upper Engadin, St. Moritz 30 km driving distance or 27 km to Scuol In the lower engadin.

We look forward to your visit
